Do you want to teach English or chat in English?

There are two sections for your registration.

  1. Online English Teacher (1 unit : 25 minutes)
  2. Online Chat Partner in English (1 unit: 12 minutes)

You can register for both, but you need a different registration with another e-mail and username.

About lessons

We offer two kinds of courses. One is called “Regular Course” which Nissait English School provides. The other is called “Leave it to the teacher”. Each lesson unit is 25 minutes. You can use the last 3 minutes writing a report and evaluating your students.

“Leave it to the teacher” Course: it’s really up to you which textbooks or materials you use. You can even decide the lesson fees. If you want to use a specific textbook, you will need to ask the student to buy a copy.

About the payment

You can decide your own lesson fee. Once a lesson is scheduled that fee is set. If you later decide to raise or lower your fee, that fee will be effective for lessons scheduled at the new amount. Your “Point number”(cost) shows under your photo. Each point is equivalent to ¥1 yen.

The process.

  1. Teacher needs to register their schedule of availability.
  2. Teacher waits till a student registers for a class.
  3. When a student makes a reservation, an email will be sent to you. You can also confirm the reservation on our control panel when you log in.
  4. Please send your Skype request before the lesson. You can start the lesson at the previously scheduled time.
  5. Please carry out the 22-minute-lesson. Then, spend 3 minutes for writing a report. The evaluation should entail, one good thing and one thing the student needs to work on before the next lesson.

Working Hours You can make your own schedule. However, please consider children’s common schedules and Japan’s local time.
Qualifications You need at least one full year teaching English experience.

The Process

  1. Screening applications:
    We screen all applications, candidates that pass the application process will be asked to provide a resume.
  2. Skype Interview
    We interview applicants about their experience and discuss our online lesson platform.
  3. Skype Demo lesson (Not for Chat partners)
    We would like you to offer a demonstration. One of the members of our staff will be your student.

Once you pass the Skype Demo lesson, you can register as an S-Lesson teacher!
If you want to teach Regular Courses, training is required. Please let us know if you are interested.

About chatting

Students’ English speaking levels differ. The Chat Partner should understand this and adjust their interest and level to lead the conversation. The important thing is to let a student speak.

About the reward

  1. Chat Partner needs to register his/her schedule of availability.
  2. Chat Partner waits till a student registers for a chat.
  3. When a student makes a reservation, an email will be sent to you. You can also confirm the reservation on your dashboard when you log in.
  4. Please send your Skype request before the chat. You can start the chat at the previously scheduled time.
  5. After the chat, the student will evaluate the conversation with a five star system. They may also leave a message from the dashboard.

Qualifications Chat Partners should be over 20 years old.
Regulations
  1. One unit of chatting time is 12 minutes. Native English speakers should lead the conversation during that time.
  2. Should know most Japanese children are very shy and afraid of making mistakes.
  3. During the chatting time, if the native English speaker gives up chatting and leaves, they won’t be paid.
  4. Native English speakers should be over 20 years old.
  5. The conversation should be carried only in English.
  6. Native English speakers should be aware that they will be ranked by Japanese students with a number of stars for their satisfaction, and the information of which will be shared.
  7. Native English speakers should standby 5 minutes earlier before the starting time.
  8. Native English speakers should make an effort to get the Japanese student to talk.
  9. The pay for chatting should be decided by you 0 yen to 1,000 yen at most for each 12 minutes.
  10. Native English speakers and Japanese students should not exchange their personal contact information like phone number, email address, SNS account. They can’t contact each other besides this service. If we find out that they do, we will delete both accounts immediately. Students will lose the points they have and Native speakers will lose the right to get paid.
  11. If we hear complaints from students, you may receive a warning message. If you get more than 3 warnings, your registration will be dismissed immediately..
  12. Native English speakers should not introduce anything inappropriate like drugs, alcohol, firearms or explicit talks. Your registration will be dismissed immediately.
  13. Native English speakers should have a Japanese bank account. If they live overseas, they or their parent should have a PayPal account to get paid.
  14. If a Native English speaker is a minor, he/she needs his/her legal guardian’s agreement.
  15. The existence, validity, construction and performance of this Agreement shall be governed by and in accordance with the laws of Japan. In the unlikely event that such an attempt should fail to resolve the dispute, then any dispute arising hereunder shall be settled through ad hoc binding arbitration conducted in Tokyo by arbitrators mutually agreed upon by both parties. The contents and results of such arbitration shall be kept strictly confidential by both parties and may only be disclosed upon mutual prior consent. Japanese law shall apply in all respects.
